# Should Retail Clients Have Access to Alternative Investments? Advisors Think So

Not too long ago, alternative investments were only available to high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors; however, in recent years, technology has made it easier than ever for retail clients to dip their toes in the alternative investment waters. There are still some limitations on who can access alternative investments, but that may not be the case for much longer: according to a new survey from CAIS, more than 83% of advisors believe alts should be made available to all retail investors.
